If you ever find yourself in south-east London for a match, I can recommend the River Ale House (sadly not by the river) and/or The Green Goddess for Charlton games, or The Shirker's Rest for Millwall. I think you'd like them.
I was in the Green Goddess (first time) on Tuesday for Charlton U21 at the Sparrows Lane Training Ground. (Not Blogged that yet). Done The Shirker's Rest for a Millwall U21 previously. But ALL recommendations gratefully accepted obvs. Thank so much.
I worked at a well-known holiday camp in the kitchens and behind the bar. Early sixties.
Everything went into the mild - left over beer; squeezed-out dishcloth; juice from the jar of pickled eggs etc. 'Tis why I never drink it. even after all these years.
Loved the Cock Tavern on the rare occasion I make it East.
First time I've ever been in. Got a lot going for it....

Ha ha! You're way ahead of me. Excellent work.
By the way, we (Deserter, which is partially involved with the Shirker's) mentioned Ball Sup on our podcast (Deserter Pubcast) the other month.
I've just found it & listened to it Vincent. I never, ever, never expected to feature in the Drug News section of the Pod....🤓
